The Fourth Temple: Pura Luhur Batukaru – The Jungle Temple

The fourth temple on my journey was Pura Luhur Batukaru, a place that deeply impressed me with its unique atmosphere. Nestled deep within the jungle, the temple sits on the slopes of Gunung Batukaru, Bali's second-highest volcano. Its remote location gives it a mystical and serene aura, far away from the usual tourist paths.

Upon my arrival, the temple was filled with monkeys, playfully roaming the sacred grounds. Visitors had to keep an eye on their belongings, as the monkeys were quick to snatch anything unattended.

A Powerful Meditation Experience

The meditation at Pura Luhur Batukaru was particularly profound. It felt as though the energy from all the previous temples was being collected and anchored here. Dedicated to Lord Mahadeva, the temple radiates a deep calmness and strength.

One of the most sacred parts of the temple is the water purification area, where devotees cleanse themselves before entering the inner sanctum. This ritual purification intensified my sense of renewal and connection with divine energy.

A particularly moving experience was my meditation in an ancient section of the temple. It felt as if I had gained access to the roots of spirituality, as though thousands of mantras and mandalas were being downloaded into my consciousness. In that moment, I felt a glimpse of the great Lord Hanuman, a presence that left me in awe.

The Energy of Earth and Sky

During my meditation, I sensed a powerful energy flowing both into the earth and into the sky. It felt as if the energy extended equally in all directions, making the meditation experience especially vivid, colorful, and profound.

Pura Luhur Batukaru emanates a powerful sense of protection, a presence that touched me deeply and remains imprinted in my soul.
