The First Temple: Pura Besakih – The Mother of All Temples

My journey began with a visit to the awe-inspiring Pura Besakih, also known as the "Mother Temple" of Bali. Perched high on the southwestern slopes of the mighty Gunung Agung, this vast temple complex stands at an altitude of approximately 950 meters. Pura Besakih is not only the largest but also one of the holiest temples on the island. Its ancient origins—dating back hundreds, if not thousands, of years—left me speechless. It is truly astonishing to imagine how such a monumental structure could have been built in those times.

This sacred temple is dedicated to Lord Mahadeva, and its energy is incredibly powerful. The moment I entered, dressed in traditional Balinese attire, I felt as if a radiant sun had ignited in my heart. The atmosphere, enhanced by the Pejati offerings I had brought, felt like a bridge of clouds lifting me into higher spiritual dimensions.

Pura Besakih radiates not only a high spiritual presence but also an immense sense of confidence and inner strength—an energy I could feel with every step I took.
